chiquita
It all started in 1944 when Miss Chiquita, stepped from the mind of artist Dik Browne to become one of the worlds most recognisable brand mascots. Since then she has had many incarnations, both animated and live action, but always with a good word for bananas.
For Chiquita Bananas new website launch, Famous Group wanted to honour the history of both the company and the mascot by having her feature in the internal communications of the company. Created here at Flux, the 2011 version of Miss Chiquita was rigged and animated in Toon Boom Harmony, then extensively layered and graded in Adobe After Effects.
Harmony let us have a vector based character rig with lots of bend and flexibility, while After Effects let us take the vector output and grade everything to get that older quality to the final footage.
